Pratt & Whitney FT8-3 gas turbine Turnkey Project 30.08.2019

In July 2019, Engineering Solutions for Power & Water Services responded to a request from General Electricity Company of Libya GECOL to perform a turnkey inspection to one of the four aero-derivative units in Tripoli West Power Plant. Pratt & Whitney FT8-3 gas turbine is new in the power generation industry in Libya, only two units were installed in 2017 and our partner Power and Water Aliens PWA managed and supervised the entire installation project. The demand for electric power in Libya is usually much higher during the summer season and the challenge which was set by GECOL was to return the unit back to service in four days. Our management team accepted the challenge because we do trust our capabilities. Our skilled manpower worked day and night shifts, in fact it was a race against time to get the unit connected to the national grid. The work completed in the framed timeline with a high quality and client appreciation.
